All the artwork displayed here are depictions of Gaston Leroux's "The Phantom of the Opera". Which if you have seen any of the movies or plays, please do spend the time reading the book... it is so much better! I am someone who believes whole heartedly in Leroux's original story, and therefore, feel that more attention needs to be drawn to it rather than the adaptations which have saturated the media.

UPDATE - October 3, 2011
We've figured out our ftp client problems -- essentially the newest updates to firefox made our fireftp extinct, which is rather stupid because it was the only ftp add-on for firefox! But we downloaded a new client and finally got it to connect, so we're doing some rough updates. The letters are open until the 9th since we were behind on opening them to start with. I'm also updating all the e-mail addresses as some of our information has changed. If you have any suggestions for the site, then please let us know. We're about ready to expand.

About Requiem Mask: Requiem Mask is a comic adventure, as well as an animated cartoon, in which Erik has been given a second chance in the present, but he must deal with the fact that he is now a real ghost, and that he has a companion who is determined to see that he will not fall again. Will he be doomed to relive his past? Or will he find peace and redemption?

Requiem Mask is based off mainly Gaston Leroux's novel, "Le Fantôme de l'Opera" or "The Phantom of the Opéra". As quoted from a version with an Introduction and Notes by Isabel Roche from 2007:

"The Paris Opera is haunted - everyone knows it. Everyone, that is, except for the new managers, who spark a violent dispute with the Opera Ghost when they refuse to achknowledge his existence or submit to his demands. Sometimes surfacing as a disembodied voice in Box Five or appearing as a gentleman in evening dress with a death's head, the phantom is obsessed with Christine Daaé, a lovely and enigmatic novice singer endowed with an amazing voice. But impetuous Viscount Raoul de Chagny is in love with Christine, and he and his brother, Count Philippe, are swept into the phantom's deadly illusion with horrifying consequences.

Police reports, newspaper clippings, and witness interviews help a sleuthing narrator reconstruct the events in French author Gaston Leroux's most famous tale, one that had significant impact on contemporary detective fiction. First published in 1911, The Phantom of the Opera has since been the basis for many adaptations, including Lon Chaney's silent film and Andrew Lloyd Webber's Tony award-winning Broadway musical. Today, this thriller is recognized not only as a compelling yarn with gothic overtones, but also an engrossing romance of stirring theatricality."

Leroux has drawn volumes of attention to the already reknowned Palais Garnier Opera House (L'Opera Nationale du Paris) in Paris. Phantom "Phans" from all over the world flock to the Opera in order to gain a chance to be engulfed in the wonder and beauty of the place where Erik haunts. Any Parisian will tell you that the story was indeed true, and eye witness accounts have been discovered claiming the opera ghost to be real. Even Leroux himself, believed in his heart, that "Le Fantôme de l'Opéra a vraiment existé."

The story itself is very important to us as both writers and artists, and has been a constant inspiration to us with both our illustrations and music. We hope that you will also be able to fall in love with this story as much as we have.

All this, and so much more, has been our muse to create a modern-day chapter in the story of the Opera Ghost, and we try to the best of our ability to bring in breaths of all adaptations and true-to-life experiences of Paris in our story. We want the readers and fans to be swallowed by the story whole, and encourage them to read the original book, as well as to one day visit Paris and truly appreciate the legend of the Opera Ghost.

Besides Leroux's original novel, Requiem Mask was also inspired by another novel. Entitled "Dies Irae", and also adapted from Leroux's, the novel will be released to the public as soon as Requiem Mask's cartoon is, as a joint agreement with the author, C. Rockwell-Román.

We have, however, taken some artistic liberties. For instance, Erik has a full head of hair, where as in the original novel, Erik was nearly bald. These artistic liberties have been taken for specific reasons that will be revealed as the story progresses. We will however, try to keep images as true to fact as possible. Thank you for your interest, and to our dear devoted readers, our most humblest gratitude.
